Having owned both, the S2K is certainly a step up from the Miata not only in fit and finish but also power. The Miata has amazing handling, even in stock form, but where it really falls on its face is in the power department.

I had an '03 Miata. The one thing I hated about that care was the manual top. When the top folded all the way back behind the seat, it took quite a bit of muscle to raise the top. Mazda fixed this with the new generation of the Miata, however, I would still take an S2K over a Miata anyway!

 

I do like how the Miata tops are Z folds. Looks much cleaner than the S.

12/12, self washing/detailing the car helps alot! and the fact I chill with the miata guys at their meets sometimes xD
