Default Mid-Engine S2000: Opinions

I was just reading about the Lotus Elise. Then I said to myself "how would a S2000 feel or handle with a mid-engine set up?".

I think the sound would be awesome having the engine behind me especially when Vtec goes off. What are you thoughts?

I think on a wet road you would spin out and die.

Weight distribution aside, let say it was still 50/50. Basically a mid-engine roadster with the S2000 engine.

Technically the S2000 is a mid-engined car, the engine mass is located between the wheels. I know what you are trying to say though regarding the engine behind your head. It was a neat feel when I had my MR2s, the sounds of the engine behind your head was really cool. I remember blowing a heater hose on my '88 Supercharged MR2, and when the coolant hit the exhaust on the freeway, the resulting could of steam in my rearview mirror was amazing. I remember thinking, "so this is how Michael Andretti feels whe the engine lets go...."

Our engine is a mid engine. Just in front of the seats instead of behind. Moving it back would just screw the weight distro.

I'm going to try and reverse into Vtec, I guess that would answer my question on how it would sound to rev 9000 with the engine behind you.

Like Krazik said, the car is already technically a mid-engine. The motor sits in between the front and rear axles.

Are you going to sit backwards too?
