Get an 02' or 03'.

Check the "Cars for Sale" forum for some good deals.

How much are you looking to spend? Are you arleady pre-approved with financing? Are you selling or trading another car?

Do a Carfax or Autocheck on the car before you buy. Have it checked out by a mechanic for any paint or body work and to check it mechanically.

my max is around $22,000 and i would like to buy the car locally, however i cant seem to find any white s2000's around except this one. I've seen some great deals on some 02's on the classifieds here but none in the color i want. I'm not in a rush so if anybody comes by any deals let me know. thanks in advance.

if you buy a 2000 make sure they changed that damn 3rd gear syncro. Mine's a 00 and im proud to say that with 51k on the odometer i havent had any problems but i have heard stories abou that sycro. Infamous.

There were a lot of TSBs issued in the '00 - '01 timeframe. Also, in '02, they did a spark plug recall (make sure your target car has the new plugs) and mid-year they changed the oil jet bolt. To my knowledge, that's the last of the major stuff (if you call it major).

There's a thread in UTH (and I think now in the s2ki library) that covers most of the TSBs, if you haven't seen that.

White is very rare... true enough. Definitely wait to get the car you want. I think that's very wise.

thanks for the help, sounds like buying a 2000 model is a pain in the @ss. Is it true that convertibles would cost more then in the winter? I would like the car in the summer due to work etc, but i could wait on it till the winter if worst comes to worst. Also any idea how much coast to coast shipping is say from cali to new york? Thanks in advance.

Convertibles do cost more in the summer then the winter. Because in the winter they will stay on lots for a long time or just be sitting in the garage. Shipping from cali to NY will be about $800-1000
