well.. after months of searching for an used s2k.. i have not seen 1 that i really want.. and my friend recently told me now is a good time to lease, since the s2 is selling at msrp and less.. leasing it wouldnt be a bad idea. I was just wondering if someone you s2 owners out there are currently leasing (to buy) your vehicle.. and if you dont mind sharing some #s on your deals.. eg: down, residual, monthly payment, total out the door price. tia!

just leased an 04 three days ago in California. I put down $1,100 and paying $380 a month for 48 months/12,000 miles a year with residual a tad bit under $19,000. I also got an extended warranty for $12.00 a month which covers 4 years or 48,000 miles- this covers roadside assistance and any defects- also extendable to 7 years if you intend to purchase after lease. Total monthly w/ tax and extended warranty comes out to $424 a month. I think it's a fair deal but you might be able to get it a tad bit lower w/ a little shopping around, a bit of BS, and patience. The price of the car w/ this lease is $31,900. I wish you luck and hope you get a better deal. And oh, my baby is Sebring Silver w/ red interior.

Here's a rule of thumb on a lease: Try to come as close to MSRP as much as possible when you add all of the payments together, i.e down, total number payments and payoff. Your target should be about $36k - $38k. If you don't intend to keep the vehicle after the lease K, try smallest down payment and monthly payment and highest miles per year allowed.
In the case of the '04 S, I don't think there're any incentives at this time. Last month, there was a promotion (for purchase) by Honda for 2.9% interest up to 60 months for ALL '04 Hondas. Check with Honda if this is still available.

Assuming there're no incentives at this time, a good lease for an S would be $2000 down and about $399/mo for 4 years. Use it as a guide only! Be very cautious with a lease! Once you are in, the endless lease cycles begin.

I put $3000 down + first month's payment. Lease is a 48mo/60k mile lease. No security deposit. Purchase price of the car was $31,195. Buyout is $18,309. I'm paying $349.17 a month. The total of my monthly payments + down payment + buyout is $38,069.16. If I would have financed the car with $3000 down, 2.9% for 60 months, I'd be looking at about $555 a month and a total of around $36,500 spent on the car. About $1500 difference. Instead, I put that $200 a month away into an IRA.
