Before I bought my new S2000 2 weeks ago it had been delivered to the dealerships auxiliary lot on Wednesday. I went to inspect it on Thursday. The car had all the protective plastic in the car and paper on it. The speedometer read 30 miles.

I did not want to wait for another one to come in and hope that it had less than 15 miles on it, so I took delivery the following day - Friday.

I don't believe there is any way it could have been test-driven with all that plastic and paper on it during the 24 hour period from Wednesday to the point I inspected it on Thursday. When I inspected, it was in the back of the dealers auxiliary lot, 3 miles away from the dealers showroom location.

Any theories as to how the car got 30 miles on it?

 

That's nothing to worry about. Mine had about 15 on it.

The dealership is also required to take it on a test drive to check everything out.

 

I took delivery of my car with 10 miles on it. Wow, 30 mi?

 

Mine had 26, 17 when it got to the dealer, the other 9 was driven by the dealer for prep and checkout.

 

Mine had 8, no one at the dealership drove mine.
