I still get 20-21 mpgs with over 400whp supercharged. Boost almost on all on ramps etc.

I got 26 - 27ish MPG my last road trip. But my S is 10 years old and I have a supercharger that is just tuned with a FMU.

Your MPG is mainly going to be based on how you drive the car especially with an S. Vtec will kill MPG. And to get good MPG you need to be in top gear. Driving in 5th will kill MPG.

I recently drove from Maryland to Ohio, an 8 hour trip, and did a few MPG calculations at the pump as well. My '02 is stock with the exception of AP2 wheels and tires. I follow the same routine every fill-up: give the car a full tank of gas and reset the trip, at the next fill-up she gets another full tank of gas and divide the gallons-filled into the miles on the trip computer. I'm sure many of you use the same method.

With cruise set at 65mph and coasting in neutral down the hills of West Virginia, I was able to travel 358 miles on a single tank and the corresponding fill-up took only 10.99 gallons of 93 octane gas. It's not the most accurate measurement but 32.58mpg sounds pretty darn good to me in a car like ours.

65mph was a little slow but the decreased noise levels made for more comfortable conversation.

358 miles on a single tank is a personal best for me and to think I still had nearly 2 gallons remaining out of the 13.2 gallon capacity tank.

Can 400 miles be done on one tank? What is your personal best?

I am amazed to hear about people getting below 20 mpg regularly. If I beat the hell out of the car and hang out between 6-9k rpm on spirited drives the worst I have seen was 21. Typically see 24-25 and on roadtrips get 28-30

I get exactly the EPA estimate range, for both city and highway. 18-24mpg.

When you post your gas mileage, can you please also post the tires you are using ?

Especially people that get that higher gas mileage. This might help people select tires in the future.

I am running BFGoodrich g-Force Sport 225/50R16 in the front and Fuzion ZRi 245/45ZR16 in the back.

I seem to get about 24 MPG combined city and highway but I'm not 100% on this yet since I only got through a few tanks so far.

The tires came with the car that way and they are probably not the best for fuel consumption. They have quite a bit of thread left so I wonder if it's worth changing tires just for potential better gas mileage. If I replace them I would probably bring the fronts to the back and use the recommended size for the front tires.

Yes it is for me, you can see my mpg in my Fuelly page at the bottom of this post. I don't put in any drive that has a lot of vtec and WOT runs or if I fill up at 8000+' and drive down to my home city at 25ft. That would give me a unrealistic view of my gas mileage. I have used gas mileage to tell if I had a tire going down or if I needed to put a tune on the car. I have done this for over 30 years now and Fuelly makes it so easy to do that I don't have any excuse not to. You can see from tank to tank how the mileage will change but will average out in the end.
