Default Mini S2k

I painted the interior of my 1:24 scale S2k Red to match my car's interior. Photo of mini model and actual car attached.
I also took a shot of the S2k next to the same scale model '59 Caddy and '69 Vette. Wow is that Cadillac a HUGE car!!!!

Looks great! I have a model too, but has black interior. Where did you get the red paint? What kind is it?

The Caddy is from Danbury, the S2k is a Maisto model.

Just regular model car paint from a hobby store. Not the cheap 99c stuff though, this was $1.89/bottle. They said any one of the better paints would do the job, I forget the name of the stuff I bought though.

Here is the Maisto model I have now:

Did yours have any existing red inside before you painted it? I need to make it FULL red like the 2002.

Jason

I have a Maisto S2K model too. Their are several things wrong with it

-battery is on the wrong side (you can barely see it in your picture)
-start button on wrong side
-windshield wipers wipe the wrong way.

Is there a reason for this? Do you think they used the Japanese model and just made a mold of the American interior?

I am disappointed.

For $3 that my gf paid for it (read: KayBee) I got the Silverstone/Red. You might be right about the things "wrong" you pointed out, but for $3 who cares?

Maisto models cost $35- 40. I am not talking about a $3 hot wheel.

one more thing hazard and top down switch are reversed as well.

That's what it sounds like. I still think the detail is really good though.
