Default Misfires

Well a valve job, coils, pugs, ecu and finally fuel injectors have fixed the misfire problem. Tony at Lindell Honda in Tampa is the man! He did everything under waranty with no problems even gave me rental car when I needed it. Has anyone had all this work done with any after effects?

A burnt valve or bad valve seat will cause a misfire. Yesterday I pulled a head off a members car after he was getting a misfire code on cyl 3 .We first tested the cylinder for leak down and found that it was at 80% leak down .Our first assumption was a burnt valve (car only has 40K ). We checked valve clearance and found them to be tight. After we got the head off to inspect this further we found that that the valve seat was toast as was the valve guide. Upon further inspection the rest of the exhaust valves guides were on there way also.

This car is second hand .My assumption is that the previous owner had used nitrous, from the heavy aluminum deposits found on the tops of the pistons. He was probably running a dry system and was running lean causing the exhaust valves to become extreamly hot.

kcgrimes , How much did the valve job run? did they just lap or recut the valve seats .Or replace the valve seat and guides. This motor will be in need of 1 seat and 8 guides.
