I feel for ya...I bought my S nearly 2 weeks ago, then was reading here about Dragonball on about the 3rd, got all excited and then noticed the "Signups end September 1st" part of the thread. I'm only about 2 hours or less from there as well.

I used to live on the west coast, in Los Angeles. I moved to western NC, leaving the S in California. I always wanted to do the event too. I was thinking about renting an S2000 but I don't think anyplace would have them available.

Probably could have I guess, it is a public road afterall. I will say this though, I had my eyes peeled friday for any of the S2000 "caravans" that were said to be headed that way. Had I of happened upon one of them I had half made up my mind to fall in tow and follow them up there. Oh well, I'll likely go to the spring event, with my father and maybe my sister as well (both also s2k owners).

Saturday was a great day for the Dragon. Weather was perfect and although there were a ton of bikes out there were no cops.

I blew my engine and ended up coming back a day early on a flat bed.

Just be sure to mark your calendar for Wake The Dragon '05 (should be set for weekend after Tax Filing Deadline...but airgate has not had an opportunity to set an exact date yet).
