Default Missing piece in passenger side footwell?

Never really notice it until today when I was cleaning up the passenger side footwell. I've noticed that there is quite a bit of metal pieces exposing. I checked the edges under the dash in both the corners and noticed some rough cutting edges. Is it normal or am I missing a dash trimming piece there?

Here's a (revised) pic of showing the passenger side footwell.

Yeah, I'm not sure what you're looking at.

My first impression when I looked at it was that it looks normal, but I will check mine when I go for lunch. Mine you I have an AP2v2 and it might be slightly different.

Hey guys, thanks for the info and visual. I never noticed the metal box being that much exposed.

Forgot to mentioned that I have an '05 so I don't have the tray like the '06+.

Anyone else mind taking a pic of their '04/'05?

I don't recall seeing something like that being exposed in MY04. I think you are missing a piece that covers it.

Nah '04 has it exposed I am pretty sure, I remember noticing something like that when throwing a usb female cable back in there from the back of my radio. I can hook up any mp3/storage device by usb to the cable in the passenger storage bag by the leg, you just throw the usb cord over there because there is no cover blocking it.
