Missing topic posts
Some of you may have figured this out already. However, this is for the uninitiated....:
There is a problem with topic refreshing which may result in you missing the latest posts, as explained here:
Assume you return to the main page (topic list) after reading a post. Normally you would refresh this page to update the current list and display any new topics or new posts. After the page has been refreshed, any new posts (to the current topics) which have been received since the last time you read the topic list will be indicated by an increase in the "number of replies" for the appropriate topics, and the last poster will appear in the "last post" column.
However, (and here's the problem...) if you now select a topic that you've previously read (indicated by orange text), AND which has received new posts before you refreshed the main list (above), then, when the selected topic page opens, it will not show the new posts which were received before you refreshed the main topic list page.
This is a difficult one to explain (i.e. what happens), but I hope you can figure it out as I've explained it. Basically, when you get to the (incomplete) topic page, you will need to do a refresh on this page too in order to display all up-to-date posts. Only this will guarantee that you won't miss any new posts. I've brought this to Cthree's attention, and hopefully, he'll be able to duplicate the problem and come up with a solution.
I'd like someone to confirm this problem and post a reply here.....just so that I know I am not having hallucinations! Thanks

I think that this is mostly a problem in how you have your browser set to refresh pages.
I use Internet Explorer, so I can't say about Netscape, but here is the setting to refresh a page every time you visit it:
Tools/Internet Options/General/Temporary Internet files/Settings/Check for newer versions of stored pages:/Every visit to the page.
I don't seem to have this problem, check your browser.
I think that you're getting old pages out of your cache because of your browser settings.

It has to do with your cache, in Netscape goto Edit=>Preferences=>Advanced=>Cache and make sure to set it to "Once Per Session" and that will automatically refresh the page for you after you go back to the previous page.
