mobil dyno for S2000............
Since i started looking for a local dyno to help Giampiero prove or disprove the HKS Exhaust gains(or loses), i have been investigating the purchase of a mobil dyno... more for a business thing than for anything else.
If I were to get one, would anyone in the east be interested in me showing up with it and running the S2000's at a S2000 meet?
Standard charge at a car show (like carlisle) is $75 for 4 runs. If I invest the $75k for the mobile 1200hp 1200lb ft of torque machine, plus $30+k for a truck to haul it, I am going to need to charge normal fees.
if there were 10-15 interested people within a couple of hours from me (central PA), i would be willing to do a little driving.
I am researching all aspects of the demand before I commit to buying it. with the proper schedule and marketing, I don't see why this couldn't be my full time job.

You wouldnt be the first. A company based out of Clearwater already provides such a service. They frequent races, shows, car club meets, and can be contracted to come directly to specialty race shops.
Don't think that just having a dyno makes you a qualified tuner, however. You have to have knowledge, tools, understanding, be easily adaptable, flexibility, commitment, and no bias towards a vehicle make. I should know because I started my dyno facility with nary a one, and had to pick up most of everything I needed along the way.
It's a lot of hard work, Scot, but if you need any assistance, please drop me a line anytime.
