Default Mod her or pay her off?

Just curious if most of you dropped lots of money on mods while you still had a note on your baby.

I have mine financed for 36 more months at ~290/month. Interest isn't really an issue at 1.9%, so it's more a peace-of-mind thing to pay her off early. I'm just trying to weigh spending a few grand (stealthbox, x-brace, 4.44 gears, seats, ect) vs. paying it off maybe a year or 18 months early.

Input?

Pay it off. You can always mod later.

Pay it off, cause you never know what is around the corner. Conversely thats a good reason to mod her too....hmmm

What if you split the difference, do a few mods and pay her off too. I've always believed that less debt is better...

Pay her off! Owning her free and clear- think about that. No check to HAVE to write every month. No possibility they can take her back. No worries if you (and let's hope you don't) lose your job or something.

Debt = bad (in particular, debt that cannot be used as a write-off)

I'd pay her off, but 1.9% is really a non issue.

To save the most money, you would probably be best putting your money into any Money Market or CD that pays over 1.9%...which should be very easy as the rates continue to rise.

You should try the car out for a year to make sure you really need to upgrade anything. Also keep in mind you will not gain much performance unless you go FI. And the biggest effect of "bling" will be to make your car more attractive to thieves.

I'm still not sure I want to add a sub because of the added weight, the loss of trunk space and the (unwanted) attention it will get.

Maybe everyone needs to do this to one car to experience the downsides, and I may do some more customizations over the next few years but, I will ease into it as gradually as I can stand.
