Default Money Pitts

I feel like my car is a money pitt. Actually I know it is. How much stuff have you guys replaced on your cars (engine and performance)?

My wish and NEED list
1. ACT clutch/ PP Plate
2. Comptech flywheel (might as well put one in when i go throught the trouble of replacing the clutch)
3. New LSD
4. New Diff housing
5. Engine Internals

It seems like the whole drive train has to be replaces for the car to be reliable in that area.

Opinions?

I think you just got one of the originals that had to get some of the kinks worked out. I have as a rule stayed away from the first year model of all cars comming out. Except for this year I bought my wife an 04 TL which has to go to the shop to get the computer software updated so the memory seats will work. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't. I think to drive up interest in Honda they released this car pretty quickly. They might have cut some development corners along the way. I have an 03 with 2400 miles on it so my troubles may or may not start with more mileage. I hope not.

Why are you replacing all of that stuff? Did they all fail and make the car undriveable? The clutch is a normal wear item and the stock flywheel could probably be resurfaced. I have an '01 with 30k on it - I guess I've been pretty lucky.

I haven't replaced anything on my #918 MY 00 with 27k miles except for the normal maintenance things (engine oil/diff/tranny/clutch/brake fluid etc.) and the battery and tires. She runs like a champ!

I never spend money on my car other than on matainence and gas.

It just takes more attention to detail.

I haven't spent anything on my car except for gas, maintenance, and snow tires.
