Default Monitoring Gauge

Not sure if I posted this in the correct location... please move if need be.

Well... I was doing my Christmas shopping on Amazon.com and I came across a link that said good gift ideas for automotive, so I clicked and came across this (and better versions of it)...

http://www.amazon.com/ScanGauge-Compact-Mu...PBKHC3821DFVSWQ

Has anyone ever used one of these? Experience with any of these? The reviews are great and wanted to post on here for more reviews.

I've had one in my civic si since I got it in June and it's great. I got it to learn the best techniques to save gas, but I'm not sure I would bother in an S2000. I know gas mileage is the last thing I'm thinking about when I'm driving my S.

Is it fairly accurate though?

I'm assuming it also worked great as a Code reader as well?

I just think that it's a great thing to know that you can view pretty much all parameters of the car that aren't displayed from the factory.

Not sure if I'd use it on my S either, but I have a Subaru that I wouldn't mind using it in. Also... I think it is capable of supporting 2 different vehicles from what I remember reading.

Yeah, you calibrate it for your car so it's pretty accurate.

Since the only car I've used it on is a six month old civic, I have not had any reason or need to read codes, but it does give me access to a lot of info. On my main screen I usually have up my current trip MPG, MPG at that instance, coolant temp, and voltage, but there are tons of other options for what you want to display.

I'm not really sure how it works but I'm assuming it uses parameters of time and RPM redline while accelerating at WOT. Not really sure what other parameters it would use.

i researched this a few months ago and read some good things.

only negative i found was that it didnt keep up perfectly with a real time MPG or rpm reading and had some lag.

other than that its on my list to get soon

i think either on top of the steering column , so right under the tach/speedo, or over on the left side of the dash..
or if you wanted fancy, cut anywhere to mount it flush like maybe the radio door?

i would want it near other guages so i dont have to look down or around too far
