most irritating thing on S2000
I've got one, how about keeping the interior power on after you pull the key out of the ignition and until you open the door. My Prelude has this and I think it's the smartest thing Honda ever did as a convienence feature.
Keeping the power on allows you to put the top and the windows up without having to turn the ignition back on.
Here's my list of minor complaints:
1) Extended power in the cabin after the ignition is off.
2) Passenger door unlock.
3) Lighted ring around the key.
4) Unable to turn on/off power to radio with dash controls.
5) No auto-leveling on Xenon lights.
6) Winshield pits easily. Paint chips easily.
7) Need better rock chip protection around the fender wells.

Although I rarely (that's an understatement) use my stereo it would be nice to have a pause button, or at least be able to go back through tracks. Other than that, how about two hundred pounds lighter, or maybe a tasteful cloth option for the seats.
My MY04 Gripes are as follows:
1. No central door unlock button. I can lock both doors, but I can't unlock. They need to put an LED in the lock button or something for the passenger to see it and the door handle (like on most cars), or make it so at least the driver can unlock the door.
2. Power window controls are in an akward place. They don't look like they'd be hard to reach in pictures, but when trying to drive and operate, it becomes much more difficult.
3. Odd place for trunk release button. Also, the fact you can open the trunk even w/o the key in the ignition. I guess that's more of a convience thing, but I got to get in the habit of locking the storage bin.
4. Speaking of storage, no glovebox. They could've put one in, in my estimation, but don't. I mean there's adaquete storage, but it'd be a lot easier to get to my title / insurance information if it were in a glove box than reaching over my shoulder to the "secret compartment" to get it.
5. Stereo controls and the lack of an ability to go reverse on a CD from the dash mount controls. Also, the "Mute" should pause a CD. And since the MY04 seems to be making it's dash a "HUD"-like thing (by putting the clock on the dash), the driver should have an option to change the clock to different information, such as CD track information, radio station information (like what channel), and guage information for things like fuel, oil pressure, temperature, etc... Electronically, that wouldn't add more weight to the car but a few ounces, and make it that much more usefull.
6. The wipers. There's an "Intermint" speed, but it's not variable. A lot of times it's raining lightly to where you need the wipers on, but the Int speed is too fast.
7. The convertible top cover is a PITA.
8. Auto-leveling headlights so I don't get blinded by oncomming traffic who thinks my brights are on. Or a big sign on my car that says "I know they look brighter, but they are HIDs and have a more defined line so while they are brighter, they aren't shinning in your eyes so why are you flashing your brights at me like they are? I know better." I know, a lot of words for a big neon sign.
That's it for the gripes.

No gripes on the S2000 for me at all. I'm actually glad they didn't add a bunch of the stuff that most of the folks here are mentioning. I like looking at an interior that is devoid of a bunch of switches, lights, buttons, etc. Keep her light, tight, and ready to fight.
WEIGHT IS THE ENEMY.
