Default Motorized front license plate

I saw an old car at a car show that had a motorized front license plate. Flip the switch and it goes away, filp the switch again and it returns. Does anyone have any ideas how we could do this on an S?

That would be pretty cool to have. It sure does sound like something that "Q" would think up.

Anyone find the source? It could be a useful gadget here in CA. I get nervous every time a cop eyes my 'naked' front end.

For some reason, that fold down bracket does not look legal. I am planning on making a BYS style bracket or other custom bracket for my plate. I would rather not be hassled by the local law enforcement.

I have heard that streetracers in Japan hinge their front plates so that at speed they are horizontal. I think it's not a bad idea, especially if you've got a huge FMIC in there.
