PBS had it on this weekend. It was pretty disapointing review. the best thing to come from this was their statement of the new S2000 being faster around the track than the RX-8 and the 350z, both of which will be on the show next week.

Hmmm, for some unexplained reason the other Motorweek thread was locked. Probably some further MY bickering I'd guess... At any rate, I thought it was a good review. They started out by saying Honda's goal was to make the car a better daily driver for traffic without compromising it's nature or taking away any of the fun (which they thought was a very tall order). Then they went on to explain their conclusion that the mission had been accomplished. They said that although the usual performance numbers were only a few tenths better in the 04, it felt even more powerful, and was much better for daily driving with usable power starting 3K lower. They talked about the changes to the suspension saying the car was still very firm and taut and not Accord-like in any way. They said the S was "One sweet handling car. Almost perfect". That was when then mentioned that it beat both the RX-8 and 350Z during their track testing. It will be interesting to see if they happen to mention the S during their RX-8 and 350Z comparo next week. It would be nice if they actually told us what the margins on the track were .

The 2004 is an improvement. I don't like the front and rear as much, but ask anyone who has tracked the previous gen and the 04, and told you the previous gen netted better lap times would be lying.

Everyone complains about the steering ratios. The fact is you don't notice it until higher speeds. The changes are welcome offers more stabilty without sacrificing the go cart feel.

Most every test I have seen has had the 04 ahead of the previous gen. My own impression is the same. I like the 04, but I like my 02 as well.
