Default M's Carbon Fiber Intake

Did anyone ever end up forking up the $ to get this? I was quoted $2100 for this intake! Too rich for my blood, but I'm wondering if anyone took the plunge.

Not that I know off. The question would be why? Sure it looks cool but look at where it ends up drawing air from. That sure as hell isn't an optimal location.
