Default Mugen 2.2L Header

So is this Mugen's answer to the J's header? Do we now have a choice for FI? Does anyone have the specs on this? I looked it up at King Motorsports, but it wasn't very descriptive.

I would go with Rick's Header instead of Mugen. Same performance for much much less.

I agree that it was a 2.0 liter "copy". The new 2.2 Mugen is all new. We all know that the J's header gives you the most gains. So how does this new Mugen compare? It's pipe diamaters are not as large as the J's.

The J's header made 10whp over the F20 Mugen header on AP1 . I wanted to see some dyno results on the F22 header works on AP2 as well.

but i hear the runner lengths of the 2.2 mugen are different from the 2L. i dont see how the J's can pull out the fullest power from a 2L design...

Was the car tuned for the header or did you just install the 2.2 header and dyno?

Thanks,

Mike

the first set of plots has three traces red blue and green.
no tuning was done at all between red and blue
was just a bolt on and then dyno.

the green shows the power after i adjusted the AEM FPR to get the A/F a bit richer.

you can see the A/F traces red to blue shoes the A/F running a bit leaner with goes to show the Mugen header is flowing more efficiently then the stock system.

the second set of plots (same data as the three trace plots the middle trace was removed for clarity)shows the pre (red)and post(blue) power delta after the A/F was adjusted by changing the fuel rail press by way of the AEM FPR.

Red on this plot is = to the red on the above graphs
Blue on this plot is = to the green on the above graphs

I think I am the first person to actually post dyno plots for the Mugen 2.2L header gains
