Default Mugen Exhaust...

What power gains are there or are there any? Also how loud is it? Is it as loud as an invidia or is consider one of the quiter aftermarket exhausts for are car? I have a MY04 and would be looking and the Mugen dual tip version... Any imputer would be great.

I've not heard the new Mugen exhaust for the MY04, but since it is Mugen, you can bet that it sounds deep and mellow and won't be too loud.

You won't gain much power with any dual exhaust anyway, so if you like the look and sound, go for it.

mugen exhausts are a little bit louder than stock, but are deep...if you want something loud then go for something else

I think the Mugen is what I want. Louder then stock but not too loud. The thing is though I want to make sure I am at least gaining HP and not losing any. For example with the Spon Sport exhaust you lose 2 HP from what I read. Does the mugen have that problem too?

Bear in mind that the Mugen exhaust people are posting their comments on is almost certainly the 99-03 variant, as the new 04-specific exhaust has been delayed and probably won't ship now until April-ish.

I know the cans are different on the 04, but I'm not sure whether there have been any other (more meaningful, structural) changes to it which might impact on the noise and/or performance. Probably not - but no-one knows FOR SURE just yet.
