Default Mugen Exhuast Install with **Pics**

Well this is how me and my friend spent 2 hours Sunday. Install had to be done in my garage do the 12 degree temps outside. Thank god for space heaters. First order of business was to jack up the car I used the Dif jack up point, after that securing the car on jack stands. Then we took the wheels off for more access. here is a pic

1. After soaking the 3 bolts from the cat to the Stock Exhaust the with WD-40 the bolts came off like butter.
2. Next we tackeled the middle hanger. It was a real bitch getten this hanger off we used the Screwdriver and tug method.
3. Then the rear 4 hangers. Those where bad too and they pritty much took up most of the time of this install. here is a pic of the Stock Exhuast on the floor.

4. Next we moved this giagantic 1 piece 55 lbs exhuast over to the free spot. Here is a pick of it

5. Next we moved to the to the Mugen Exuast It was cool of Mugen to include a new gasket and new bolts from the cat to the exhuast. Here is a pic of this two piece Exhaust.

6. Then we took the longer Piece and attempted to install it. here is where we incountered are first problem and/or mistake. We first connect the 2 rear hangers instead of doing the middle hanger first. (which i would suggest you do first) when we got to the middle hanger we saw that mugen really did not leave much room to slide the hanger into.
7. We trimed the edge of the middle rubber hanger to slide it in. And it worked great. We just trimed the edge of the rubber hanger about a 1/4 a inch and it slipped in just fine here is a pic of the hanger of the exhuast notice the small space they left

8. After that it was smooth sailing its a lot easier to put on the rubber hangers then remove them. here is a pic of finished prodcuct.

Here are some comments on the Exhuast:
Great Sound Deap Low Growel from 2500 rpm to about 4500. Just about a stock sounding idle and great screaming sound up top. Looks are great to I love the rainbow tips. Excellent Craftmanship on this piece to welds are second to none. Pritty much what everyone else has said about it on this board.

One thing that has seem to happen is that S2000 shakes ARE GONE!! If you do not know what i am talking about the shakes are when you start your car when its warm and the idle drops to point where the car shakes but never stalls. It might be a little to early to tell but after the install I drove the car for about the whole day and never had it shake.

Hope this helps anyone who is planning to get this system and expects to install it thierselves.

PS: We need to Get a NJ Run together

Congratulations on the nice new exhaust system!

Hanger installation is much easier with the liberal application of silicone to the hanger holes (don't use oil or petroleum-based products like WD-40 on the rubber). Also, Liquid Wrench works better than WD-40 as a penetrant/lubricant for recalcitrant nuts. In cars without too many miles on them, the exhaust bolts generally aren't hard to remove.

I've found that dish or liquid hand soap works great for getting the hangers on/off as well. Especially those little sink-side pump jobs, just hold them up to the hanger and give 'em a squirt!

So, it can be adjusted so it's more even on each side correct?
Possibly my only complaint...but looks great anyway! I have yet to hear one in person, unfortunately.
