Default Mugen hardtop

Okay I have a couple of questions for you guys who have a Mugen hardtop.

1.Should I install the hardtop then drive to the body shop and get it painted?

Or

2.Get it painted first and then install it?

Any advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

I think the best way is to install it drive it there drop it off then come back and then put it on right there. That way you don't have to worry about transporting it, you would already have all the hardware installed and you they can't accidentally get over spray on your car.

I don't have one btw or an s2k at the moment but just seems like the best go to go about it.

Is it possible for a perfect paint job while top is installed or it has to be off the car?

I'm sure that they can do a perfect job with it installed, but it takes no more then a few minutes to take off and to put back on. It might take them a more then a day to finish painting it, so that could leave you without the car for a least a whole day if not more.

I'd make sure I had all the fiddling and messing about trying to get it to fit as nice as possible done before painting it... that way you won't damage it

Take your gas door off, give it to the shop to paint match if you don't have a daily driver.
