Mugen SS Wing - CF?
I've searched and trawled the forums but I can't seem to find the answer to my doubt. Just received my SS wing and it comes unpainted as expected. IMO this is perhaps the worse Mugen product I've ever seen or purchased and now I understand why other Mugen wing owners insist on painting it.
Other than the exceptional one piece construction, the carbon weave is only found on the exterior fins instead of the complete wing? My question, is this product suppose to be like that and needs paintwork because of no CF weave? I have doubts that it's 100% CF because of this since only certain sections are CF whilst the rest are made of another material/compound.

I think the reason everyone chooses to paint it is not because of a lack of quality in the weave, but simply because that's how it's designed. I can't give you the technical reasoning behind it, but I've never seen one that wasn't painted, either on an owners car or in an ad for mugen products. I would imagine what you have is completely normal.
The CF 1+1 pattern weave is only applied on the external side fins while everywhere else comes in a primed texture that definitely needs painting without question. The prime dark greyish colored texture looks like the surfaces commonly found on stuff like fibreglass bodykits. In fact, the prime quality is so poor, you wouldn't believe it's a Mugen product. If it's not for the instructions/accessories pack for installation, you won't even think it's Mugen simply judging by the substandard job on a fairly expensive product.
