Default Mugen t'stat, fan switch, & rad cap - interesting behavior in cold (Florida) weather

It got down into the 40's tonite and I noticed that my temperature gauge would cycle between 2 and 3 bars every 10 or so minutes in city driving. I had the heat on with the fan full blast. Vtec was unaffected when gauge showed just 2 bars.

Anyone else with Mugen/Spoon/Speed thermo package notice similar behavior?

I had the spoon thermo and rad cap. For me it would stay at 2 bars for a long time. I ended up taking it out and putting the oem t-stat. The cars cooling system to me is good enough unless you track it a lot.

Here's my old thread.
