Default Mugen vs. OEM Hardtop

I think a hardtop would be a nice addition to the S. However, I like the looks of the Mugen a little better than the OEM. For those of you that own a Mugen hardtop or know someone that has one, how does the fit and finish compare to the OEM.

Pros and Cons/personal opinions of both would be appreciated!

I believe the fitment is the same. Mugen looks a lot nicer with the shape of the S!

i like the OEM one as well...

the mugen is light but...
1) the back window is the same size as an '02 back window on the soft top (very small)
2) the back window isnt even glass, its lexan

i agree that it does look better, and may even be more aerodynamic... but lexan??? esp for $3k - $4k!!!

The Fiberglass Mugen Hardtop is actually heavier than the OEM. Now the Carbon Fiber, that's a different story

Yup, the FRP is lighter than the OEM.

I really like the OEM hardtop. The rear window is very large, it has a defroster on it, and at 44 lbs, it's not heavy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read somewhere that the Mugen hardtops don't come with a liner inside. The OEMs are finished off very nicely inside.

Also, I believe that the interior of the Mugen HT is not "finished" where as the OEM has a "finished" appearance (with a liner I think)

That would contribute to the Mugen HT weight savings.
