Default MUZ Intake

I just purchased a MUZ intake extention (part of the group buy) and I wanted to know what air filter to use. I currently have a stock filter. I have heard K & N filters are good, but wanted some feedback from the group.

stay with the stock filter. K&N is an inferior filter compared to stock. Search under "filter replacement" etc and see what you get.

I personally love K&N filters mostly because they are washable and reusable and have a million mile warranty. It's a worthwhile investment for you in my opinion becase your filter will get much dirtier quicker because of the air duct.

Search for the post by Road Rage regarding the subject
Multiple test have shown the K&N lets in much more dirt than the OEM.
So, if you go with K&N, you MUST change the oil more frequently...

I may be mistaken but last I heard "Road Rage" uses a K&N filter on his car? Tenblade, what intake do you currently have?
Use of a K&N filter does not void your warranty , I have yet to read any scientific evidence that this type of filter causes any premature engine damage. I agree that more airflow equals less filtering of dirt but to what significant degree is another can of worms that none of us will ever completely agree upon.

Other drop in filters besides K&N and the stock air filter to consider are:

Spoon (expensive)
JR Air Filter
Sprint air filter (around $45)

TenBlade,

I believe Hygiene Boy is correct. Road Rage appears to be using the K&N filter with a modified OE airbox and spoon snorkle. Click on his profile and look at his signature.
