Default Muz Lower Brace

So I've been reading the "X-brace" threads for a couple of years and decided it was time. I ordered the Whiteline from Muz. Shipped out on Monday and made it to NY today (Wednesday). Fast, huh? I wasn't going to tackle this tonight, because I already changed my diff oil today and I'm old. . Anyway, I got the front jacked up and sitting on stands, got my $3.99 8mm hex wrench from Sears and my 14mm socket and I'm off. I read where some guys had to loosen some of the adjacent bolts to line everything up, but for some reason this went just perfect!
It went so well that I was waiting for the car to fall on me, but 15 minutes and I was done. I took it for a quick ride on some of my regular crappy roads, and the first thing I noticed is that the steering felt a bit tighter, but in a positive way. Nice on-center feel. The car seems more stable on the uneven road surfaces that I deal with daily. Of course it feels stable to begin with. I'll give it a good run tomorrow, but I'm pleased with it so far. If this is the "placebo effect", Ill take a case!

I had a chance to take the car for a nice long run all around the Bear Mountain area and Seven Lakes Drive. I'm sure many of you NY/NJ folks are familiar with the area. Plenty of turns, dips and other fun things. I think the the Muz/Whiteline brace is worth doing. Makes a great car even better.

When I installed my Muz x brace I had trouble with the final bolt. I had it propped up on jack stands, three of the bolts went in fine. The third no such luck. It looked as if the car shifted when I removed the original bolts. I believe it was due to being up on regular jack stands and not on the stands which the front tires can rest on. I think due to the front tires hanging, it shifted slightly. I ended up accidently crossthreading that final bolt and had to take it to Spugen to get it installed properly. I've heard that this is a common problem with installing them.
