MX5 to S2k!
Hey guys and girls, just bought a 2001 S2k and LOVE it. Coming from a 1999 Miata which was my baby, this is my new one. Had the miata for 3 years and thought it was time for a change. I loved the look of the S2k so I read up on it. Test drove one a month ago and fell in love with it. I was looking locally, but then I found one in California with 13k miles on it. Garaged all its life, weekend driver, so I got it for 19k. I thought it was a great deal. The previous owner even got the extended warranty, so I'm covered till 2008. Anyway, just thought I'd share, I'm in love with this car, it's as fun as a miata but on steroids. Here are some pics, though if you follow the link you'll get the high-res ones.

I know we always rail about the fact that people say, "Oh, is that a Miata?"...
But looking at the two side-by-side with similar colors and even wheels, well, I could understand how someone who didn't really notice cars to draw a comparison/make an indentification mistake.
Nice cars. Both of them.

Great pics. Looks like feeding time for the S.
I went from a 1999 Miata 10AE(blue) to a Suzuka blue S2k. Wish I could have got the comparion shot although the blues are quite a bit different. You're right they are both fun to drive.

The Miata was (is) a complete blast to drive. I'm very glad I learned to drive "properly" in it, it's got rear wheel drive and just enough power to make it super fun around the twisties. The S2000 is a whole 'nother beast. Some girls from the neighborhood walked up the street when I was taking the pictures and asked why I was taking them. I told them and one girl said "I like the one in the front (Miata) better." Grr.
