Just got a phone call from my dealer that my '01 s2k is here! But one thing really pissed me off, I told my salesman that I wanted silver/red and it turned out silver/blk. The dealer said it's people in Japan mistaken, and not the dealer's fault. What can I do?? I don't know how long will I have to wait for my silver/red if I don't get the silver/blk now.

Take it!

What's wrong with silver/black anyway?

The dealers do not even get a choice in the color scheme. They get an annual allotment and take them as they come. So, you have to decide, take it or wait.

Take it and trade door panels and seats with someone with a red interior...or not! Either way, your car awaits you...go get it, man!

Congrats!

That's not what I was told. I was first in line for a 2001 model and the dealer called to tell me they were alloted one more MY2000 car. After I agree to take it, they asked if I still wanted Silver/Black or if I wanted to pick a different color -- so obviously they are able to ordered specific colors.

Despite that info, I suggest the gentlemen TAKE the Silver/Black!!!!

That's not correct. The dealers do get to choose the exact colors they want. The exact process is somewhat complex. Honda first sends them a list of cars they will be alloted. The dealer then sends back corrections to that list, colors, options etc... Honda then approves the changes and the final list is sent to the dealer. If the dealer was not alloted a silver/red, they would have known it months ago.

If there was a screwup, it was probably your dealer and they just don't want to admit it.

I'd bust them for some major discounts, but still accept the car.

ask your dealer to trade it.

The s2k my dealer had was a blk/blk that they traded w/ another dealer for a silver/red.

I'm happy for you. The red interior really makes both the black and the silver S.

Mine's silver/red and I couldn't be happier.
