Thumbs up My 1st burnout not with the CDV

My new car just a little but pass 700 miles, and I decide to try to launch it off the red light. Rev it up to 5000 RPM easy do 2 step release the clutch. I expect the wheel spin but no the car just move slowly. After that I smell a nasty clutch burn. Is that the CDV or VSA that screw up my 1st burn out? I gonna try again on the way home tonight with VSA off.

Umm... turn of VSA/Traction Control and drop the clutch at 6k.

Nasty clutch burn small suggests it's a clutch problem not VSA.

I have a good idea. Stop doing it. your car only has 700 miles on it

imho ,1st break in the motor befor you beat on the car. yes, you want to start fast in auto-x, but spinning the tires doesn't mean you are starting fast.

I've wanted to spin my tires for the fun of it. But new car, new motor, you should break it in first. I got my car with like 160 miles and I have 2500 now and I havn't even gone past 5k rpm. Waiting on first oil change before I start all of that.

Break in is 600 right? I'm at 700+. I want to rev high and take off spin a little to know the limits of the tires where the grip is. But with VSA and CDV it does not launch it creeping off the line. If you know what I mean.

Its the CDV (Clutch Delay Valve) either modify it or get the valve from a 2000-2003 and replace it (takes some modding also).

I left my CDV on too long (6000 miles) and had a nice glaze on the clutch, even after changing the CDV my clutch would still slip under hard driving. Now it seems ok. Though I dont it will last as long as it should.

IMO that was the dumbest thing Honda could have installed on a sports car
