... a drop of around 15% from 1st to 4th, a bit less in 5th and irrelavent in 6th as you need tail wind to redline. The biggest hit comes not from the revised gearing but from the drop in redline.

So second will be good for only 55 mph, requiring another shift, into third before you get to 60 mph? Why would Honda do this, won't this substantially impact 0-60 times?
