My belt tensioner broke
Colin, what a lucky guy you are to have friends like that! Can you imagine if one of us schmucks had to have our car towed from an autocross for a repair? Honda almost certainly would have found a reason to deny the repair based solely on where the car was when the part failed (regardless of the fact that the failure had nothing to do with the activity)!
Congrats on winning, and kudos to your wife for getting out there and making the female presence known!

Great story, Colin! That's some pretty handy work to get the tensioner changed on two cars in time to run the event. You gotta love the comraderie of autocrossers - willing to let you take a part off a new car so you could run. Awesome! And congrats on the championship!
Thanks for the encouragement. The thing that impressed me most was the fact that there is not way OUR store would have done that for me... and I work there! Sometimes I wonder if I'm at the wrong store, cuz their idea of customer service fits my idea of service. But the fact is: I work primarily at the Acura store and I've seen us down new cars for a customer.

I'm still so impressed with the car with the Kumho V700s. Third overall through seventh (me) were all in the 48 second range. Only 2 cars got into the 46s. I'm convinced if I had run my four runs in the morning instead of fixing the car, I could have moved up a notch or three. Mentally I found it VERY hard to get in the car at 4:00 in the afternoon and go fast. Especially after all the stress of "breaking" the car in the morning. Autocross is such a "mental game"
