Almost every time I get in my car, it beeps when I open the door. Sometimes once, sometimes twice. Why does it do this?

 

I think mine beeps when the doors have just been unlocked with the fob.

Come to think of it, I want to say it might be beepins as the parking lights flash as a result of the doors being unlocked with the fob. I wonder if it's essentially the same beep as the one warning of the lights being on (with the door open and keys not in the ignition).

I might have to check that out when I get home. I've never paid any more attention to it.

but usually on cars there is a way to turn on/off the notification beep for lock/unlock

When the lights are on and the door is open, the car will ding a warning. When you unlock the door with the fob, the lights will blink, and if you open the door while they are blinking, you will get the door dings as well.

Are these the dings you seek?

 

Never heard that before. Mine only beeps with 2 clicks on the lock button.

 

2 clicks on the lock button and you get a honk from the horn.
I think what the OP is trying to find out is that why is there a beep coming from near the ignition switch and the interior light flashes for half a second right when you open the door. I noticed but never bother to find out why

 

if it's the lights i've got some damn good timing...ill test that out.

 

Mine used to beep when i tried to lock it and it decided not too. I don't know why it did that but i changed the coil cell battery in the remote and it hasn't beeped since then.
