My car has been a magnet for hit and run drivers...
I feel like whenever my car is ready to look pretty, something bad happens to it.
Incident 1 - Parked hit and run at the beach
My brother borrowed my car while I was out of the country and had someone hit/run it. Made me pretty sad but hey, shit happens right?

Ordered a new Amuse bumper that took a year and a half to arrive due to Japan's tsunami and some other lost shipment mishaps. Repairs took 3 months b/c I kept having to take it back for missing/unfixed things. Spent a month in paint after getting the bumper b/c they couldn't match the same color they painted the fenders just a year before. I was ecstatic when it finally came.

Finally got the car back and not a week later....
Incident 2-

Yes, it was minor, but the fact I only had it for a week was irritating.
Fast forward to today, less than 6 months after getting the car back. Went out to drink some tea when I noticed after I parked,

After I cleaned it up a bit.

I felt so angry I just went home. It went through the clear and first layer of paint too. Quite a few spots with missing clear and paint now....
Not even sure what to do now. I want to repaint again but after the last paint I'm not sure I'm ready to go through a month of no car again. They used a blend of Champ White and GPW to get their match apparently so I'm not sure it can be repainted without it being a PITA.
I really really REALLLLLLY hate hit and run people.... makes me consider installing an alarm with cameras inside...

sucks man. i park away from everyone and do everything i can to avoid getting dinged by careless drivers. no dings on my '00 when i got it 5 months ago. i can see someone bumped the front parallel parking... f#$kers...
anyways, there is a company called drivecam (i believe) that when an impact to your vehicle is felt, it records 20 seconds before the impact and 20 seconds after, front and rear. i don't know if the sensitivity can be adjusted or if you can have it set to only when the car is off. i had one in a company vehicle i drove years back.
