Default My Car has a GREMLIN...

Cruising down a straight stretch of highway...

-Heavy application of throttle causes a sharp pull to the left.
-Quick lift-off causes an equal and opposite pull to the right.
-Part throttle results in straight and true tracking.

I check my tire pressures often and they are maintained at 32 psi all around. This "gremlin" does not always rear its ugly head. It is definitely an intermittent issue.

Could it be that my engine (bone stock) makes such a rediculously insane amount of torque that my chassis is practically doing everything it can to withstand twisting itself apart??

I now have 12,000 miles on my 2002. I bought it back in late June with 4,454 miles and it had just been aligned. Perhaps it's time for another?

The only times I've ever heard of this happening, it's ALWAYS been tire pressures or some other mismatch of the rear tires. Have you checked pressures since this started happening? Is one rear tire newer than the other?

Everything on my car is straight from the factory. Even the tires. I check the pressures often and this tugging still crops up every now and then.

And no it's not a typo. When i got the car (a 2002) less than 4 months ago, it had 4,454 miles on it and was flawless. I have since dramatically increased its mileage per week...

Read the next line after that. He's driven 7500 miles in 3 months.

Back to the subject at hand. Like Elistan said, the only times I've noticed this was mismatched tire pressures or wayyyy off alignment. I have had shops do a bad alignment job, so that could be a culprit.

Also, what kind of tires are you running?

Get an alignment. Check for toe settings, if they aligned it with not enough toe in/out then it will tend to wander at high speeds. If that's not the case it may be uneven tire wear.

I think this may be the case. I've autocrossed with them once and done a LOT of spirited backroad driving. I am big fan of throttle steering so they get put to good use. I am trying to time it so that I need new tires just in time for winter here. I'll throw some all-seasons on my stock 16 inch wheels and run them through the cold months. Come spring time, I'll get some 17 inchers with new summer rubber.

Black with a polished lip under Sebring Silver...mmmm

get a good tire pressure gauge

that sounds like tire pressures or uneven wear 1000%
