Default My car is haunted!

OK. Here's the deal. I just rolled over 400 miles.

And my car is haunted!

I seldom listen to the radio, as it is annoying to me, and my "other" hobby as an audio reviewer keep me listening to tunes from some of the world's best equipment, and listening to anything else is like driving a Yugo after driving an S2000 - unbearable.

Back to the haunting. The radio is off - and I mean off - radio door is open, there is no display, and I push the button - radio on - push it again - radio off.

As I am pulling into the driveway, I hit the remote door opener, and am creeping forward in 1st as I prepare to make a 90 deg turn into the garage. I j
hear a very soft voice, female, nasally, like a bad microphone setup at K-Mart announcing a blue light special.

Huh?! I thought I turned off the radio - stop - open the radio door, radio is off. I am hearing this voice, just faintly above the engine at idle. Is it someone outside that I cannot see? Roll down the window - nope. Window back up, I lean foreward to put my ear up to the tweeter, and no voice - must be my imagination. I sit back, and I hear the voice again. I shut off the engine - no more voice. I start it, and there is the voice.

It is clearly RFI - radio frequency interference. Not sure if it is CB, Ham, or a cordless phone, but there it is. I do not recall hearing it at any other location, but in traffic the ambient noise would likely drown it out, as would driving at any spped above a crawl from wind, tire, and road noise. Am I in a hotbed of RF energy, am I delusional, must I up the voltage on my electro-shock treatments?

Anyone else have a "ghost"?

I've never had that happen in my S or any of the cars I've owned, but I have had it happen to me in my home. It scared the bejezus out of me when it happened too.

You are not alone.
