Recently, I had an odd thing happen in my '02 S2000. I was on a long, straight freeway on-ramp, accelerating in (I believe) 2nd gear, and about to shift to 3rd. Suddenly, with no warning, I lost all electricity. At first, I thought my engine had failed, but I realized it was the electricity when I saw that the instrument panel was completely dark. So, I pulled over and restarted the car. It restarted with no problem. I haven't had any problems with the car prior to or since that incident.

Has anyone else had this happen, or have any speculations as to why it could've happened? I've checked the battery terminals and they look okay. I did notice that electricity seemed to go off as I was in the process of shifting from 2nd to 3rd. However, I don't know if that's mere coincidence. I was at maybe 5k RPMs when it happened.

Any ideas?

That sounds like a main wire has broken mostly through or is loose (to starter perhaps?). If the problem happens again, it'll probably become more frequent.

Assuming that's the problem, until it gets frequent enough, it'll be hard to diagnose. In the meantime, just write it off as a fluke.

Thanks for the input guys, I've got my fingers crossed that it's just a random fluke. I've driven the car for about 1000 miles since it happened, and so far so good. My greatest fear is that it's some obscure electricity problem.

Was there any kind of disk or cilyndrical shape up in the sky, moving with non-physic directions and accelerations or so?

No, I don't think so. But, I did seem to be missing a few moments of memory, had vague flashbacks of a green light, and had a strange aching feeling in my groin following the incident...

No, no pain in the rear. I think these must have been the sexual experimentation type of aliens, not the anal probing type.
