I guarantee the overwhelming majority would tell them to avoid it.
Dpends on the description of "Flooding". I have an AEM intake that is known for hyrolock. I have seen the intake I have cause Hydrolock while starting the car, not even while driving. As mentioned before, it is perception. I would imagine that if someone was looking for a clean car and your matched what they are looking for and you told them it has a new engine due to hydrolocking the last one, you would be OK and have no issues with selling

If I was the buyer, I'd walk right by the car if the engine was replaced. I prefer to have everything as original as possible like it just rolled out the factory.

Someone may find this as a steal though, but the value probably will not increase. I would imagine that a buyer would use the replaced engine as a haggling point.

It all depends on the person trying to purchase the car. I would love to buy your car, but I wouldn't pay more than it was worth before because it's had some major work done to it. Other people may see it as "Oh wow, brand new engine with documentation. If I can get it for the same price as if it had 50k miles on it then that's a steal."

Maybe a dealer would be a good source for actual value. However, I have a feeling that right or wrong, they would be offering less.
Doesn't really mean anything but they would be looking for an excuse to offer you less than you may think the car is really worth.
It's just the way they do business. A private party sale would be best(I think).

It has been asked several times - HOW did the engine get flooded -
Was it parked in a parking lot and a river somehow got just the motor?
Were you driving through a puddle and the engine hydro locked?
Did your car get too much during happy hour and drowned on it's own vomit?

Half you guys IMO are crazy, who in there right mind wouldn't want a car with an engine replaced by Honda with 5k on it instead of 55k for the same price?

Not worth more, not worth less. Just a +point in my eyes

. So if your drove through a puddle and your engine got flooded you would do what? Scrap the car? Sell it with no engine? Say, yes, change the engine to honda, and then sell it for a reduced price? Hell no. So easy to be judgemental when it's not your car isnt it! I'm with s2k-tilldeath. Major work, but nothing bad. Not been in an accident and twisted up, just the heart of the car replaced with something brand new, a lot of people would kill to have a new motor put in by Honda.

Maybe and for practical reasons I believe your corerct. There are too many instances with some of the more desireable autos that lean more toward impracticality and place a premium on originality. I would be happy with the engine change others may not. As for value/de-value, time will tell.
