Default My experience with Inline pro.

Hello, I have owned my AP1 for 4 years. I was able to enjoy the car for a little over a year, before a failed rod baring. I did my research on the best shop to bring it to live and Inline pro SEEMED to be the best choice. I will explain my experience the best I can, without rambling.

The build was a sleeved/89mm bore bottom end with a "stage 1" head package. This is a FULL build, where they built AND assembled. So new oil pump, gaskets.

I received the built engine complete. Fully built valve cover to oil pan complete. Ready for install. Install went smooth with a new clutch, OEM thermostat, break in oil and OEM honda filter. Oil was changed like directed for break in and moved ro fully synthetic AMSoil 10w-30.

Shortly after break in, the car was paired with a AEM V2 and tuned at Richtuned in Tacoma WA. Shout out to Richtuned, the whole team is awesome. 230whp and 149 torque. I was happy. 3000 miles later came the problems.

At around 6-7k miles the car started over heating. This car was only a daily to work, zero track days. I went rheough the system and nothing fixed it. I took it too a shop and they would Equal amount of coolant in each cylinder only on the Intake side. They stated "Whoever installed the head bolts did not torque to spec".
I could tasted Inline pro and they blamed the tuner. I got my files from RichTuned and sent them over. Week later I contacted them and they said the tune looked fine. I must have a hole in my head gasket. I asked for a completely head gasket and refused.
I sent the car back to Richtuned for the head gasket work, because I lost my area to work on vehicles. Once the engine was removed the bottom end looked fine. EXCEPT... no duel valve springs, hmmm... I paid for them, but not installed. They also did not see a bull port on the head as well. Which I paid for.
Now I am wondering, what else did I pay for that they didn't install/complete work on? I have lost all confidence at this point.
They said they would "reimburse" me $300. Because they stated duel valve springs are the only difference between stage 0 and stage 1.
They have not reaponded to my picture for proof, and eager to see the response.
I want to warn others about my experience and am asking for advice on what I should do in this situation. I feel completely ripped off.

I understand why honest people take pictures along the way when they build and ship it to you car parts. Seems like the engine builder was not counting on the motor having issues and you removing the valve cover or head. Is there a warranty on the engine?

If not you could try contacting one of the other engine builders on the site and see if they can finish that build to your liking.

I have read now 2 posts like this. I would strongly suggest you ( or futility readers of this post) send your motor to Jeremy Allen. He is 100% the best in the country/World and was at Inline Pro for years. He left and now does his own business. I have never heard of one issue with his work, and he makes f series motors from stock to over 1000 hp. He communicated with me well and met his own stated timeline as well.
After reading another post wherein the S2KI member went through 3 failures with IP I decided not to use them. After reading this post I am not predicting good things for them moving forward. It’s not just the money, there’s a huge amount of missed enjoyment as well. So sorry you’re having to go through this.
Also, I would challenge anyone to blame Rich at Richtuned for causing this issue. There is no better person in Washington to tune an S2000, especially via an AEM ecu.

My advice: take whatever communication you have regarding the work you ordered and file a small claims in court. These guys need to learn.
