Default My floor jack is too big for my S2k- what to do?

I tried jacking up my s2k tonite when i realized that I had a nice new hydraulic jack in my garage. I told myself that I was jacking up the car to check for spring spacers (although I have checked for them numerous times before) but I was really just doing it to be able to play with my car. So I go to put the floor jack under the side of the car, and it doesnt fit by about 1/4". My solution was to jack up the car with the spare tire jack to where I could fit the floor jack in, then use the floor jack. The problem is, it took a long time. Any ideas to make this quicker? Also, when i jack it up with the floor jack, can I put the jack stands under any part along the ridge where the floor jack held it, or do I have to put it under the designated jack spots on that ridge (just aft of the front tire and just forward of the rear tire)?

Get yourself two pieces of wood, about 10-12" wide, 1.5-2" thick and about 12" long. Put them against the leading edge of your front tires. GENTLY ease the car onto the blocks and VOILA! you now have the car high enough to get the jack under the front jacking point. You can make it even easier for yourself if you bevel the front of the wood at a 45 degree angle.

If you check your manual, you will see that there is a jacking point at either end of the S2000, so you can lift the whole front up in one swift go. Make sure to put a rag in between the jack and the car!!

I put my car on jack stands, but I don't use the Honda jacking points, as the jack stands dig into the paint due to the incompatible 'V' shape. I use the lower suspension mounting points that tie into the frame, and this works well for me.

Hope this helps.

A couple of pieces of scrap 2x4 work just fine as well. Bevel the fronts with a quick cut and keep 'em with your jack. Much lighter than 2x12's, work just fine!

Don't worry about the wood being narrower than the tire. Just pull right up on them, then lift with the jack.

Exactly what I was going to say, but I stack 2, 2 x 6's (one longer than the other so there isn't such a high spot sharp spot to climb) on each side and you can crawl right under.

you can use even 2- 1x4s without any bevel at the front, but might also need a couple under the rears too (to get the jack under the rear while the front is off the ground)...
i think you should use jack stands and remove all 4 tires too to inspect for the spring spacers.
the dealer had inspected twice and i had inspected once with the tires on and no one saw the one spacer that was hiding until we removed all tires.
as long as you have the tires off, paint the calipers silver! cleans them up so that they match the wheels... a very easy mod as long as you are lifting the car.
