Default Is it my imagination or---

Is it my imagination or does the S-2000 really start to loosen up with a few miles on it? My Berlina just passed 3,000 miles and seems to pull much harder in the 3,000 to 5,000 rpm band. The car was always very strong in VTEC, but now seems have much more torque down low.

One other point. Is there a way to trick the rev limiter? Seems like there is a lot left, especially in first gear, when hitting the rev limiter. Another 500-600 rpm's would be great. I know the AP 1 crowd has that 9,000 redline, so a suggestion to trade down is not the answer I'am looking for.

of course the engine feels better with 3,000 miles on it then it did new...all engines have some length of break-in period.

I don't have any problem going 9200 rpms before I hit the limiter. Silly AP2's

my car (02 AP1) dyno'd 197rwhp stock@27k miles. my best friend has an 01 AP1 with 71k and it put down 205rwhp stock, on the same dyno.

You can swap an AP1 ECU in there, and you can get a full 9200 rpm redline

engine loosens up thus more power.

p.s. you're due for an oil change then.

Get an EMS and set the rev limit to 8600 or so.
