is my insurance trying to rob me? lol
It is pretty much pointless for you to ask others what they pay for insurance to try and get an idea of what you "should" be paying. There are MANY factors involved in insurance rates that change what one person pays from the next before the car itself is even taken into consideration such as:
-driving history
-age
-sex
-location
-credit score (yes, a low credit score can raise your insurance rates)
-multi-vehicle or multi-policy (such as homeowner's insurance with the same company)
The best thing for you to do is just call around and go with the company that gives you the best quote for what you feel is an adequate level of coverage. Just remember that some of the cheaper companies may provide inferior service if you ever need to file a claim.

I'm 28 and I have full coverage on my MY04 s2k that I'm still paying off. I pay $120 a month with Geico but I live in Connecticut and I know depending on the state you live in it could vary your premium. I haven't had any tickets in a long time so I'm sure that helps. For my paid off winter truck (2001 dodge ram 1500) I pay $27 a month
My deductible for the s2k is $500 but Geico is good about everything else. for instance, over the past summer my car was swiped over the left rear quarter panel by a truck while I was inside scrubway getting a lettuce sandwich. It was driveable but I obviously had to have it fixed it looked terrible. Granted I was super pissed about having to pay $500 for something some random scumbag caused but the total cost was $2300 and Geico picked up the rest and I got a free rental vehicle pick me up at the body shop where I dropped off the s2k. as long as I own the car the body work they did is gauranteed for life.
NFRAP2 is right theres a lot of factors.

I went yesterday to my insurance (freeway insurance) and asked the lady that I was planning on buying a 04 s2000, gave her vin ect. and wanted to know price on insurace, before i drive 400 miles to go pick it up, and my previouse civic is covered at 40$ per month but when I went to go ask about the s2000, she quoted me 290 per a month with 500$ deductable for a full coverage, and I was shocked, i had asked why and was expecting around 200-230, but she said due to being a sports car and convert.. im 21 with 4 years of driving with a license , clean driving record. any ideas who gives the cheapest in price for insurance or is this what i should be expecting to pay for being 21?
Some companies quoted me $300-400/mo. Kind of crazy. Geico was the only one under $200.
