I am curious why you refuse to wear a seatbelt? I have been in several severe accidents and I can't imagine not wearing mine and I really can't imagine why someone in an accident as bad as yours was still doesn't. I'm not going to flame you or anything, I'm just curious what your reasoning is.

wicker: just extremely uncomfortable for me. i'm a regular size dude though...5'10" 160 lbs.

i just hate the way it feels that's all. however i AM a witness of their effectiveness...my passenger walked away with merely a cracked rib where the belt snagged him so tightly.

I wear it in the company vehicles that I drive, for liability purposes of course, but in my own car it's just way too annoying and uncomfortable.

I guess it's your choice and at least you're making an informed one. It's funny, because I'm basically the same size as you and I'm uncomfortable NOT wearing a seatbelt.

Anyways, enjoy the new car! I just got mine a month ago and love it. Being in North Carolina, you should have access to plenty of twisty roads to keep your S2000 well exercised. The hardest part will be the wait between now and when you get your car!!! I should know since I joined this board in Oct. 2000, ordered the car in February 2002, and just got it in July 2002!. Definitely worth the wait though.

Mark.

It's a lot easier to get spotted by a cop in a S2K with no belt on then in a car thats not a convertible. Tickets will follow. I cannot believe no one else is as shocked as me that because its uncomfortable, he does not wear a seat belt.

ken2000ac: Have you ever tried a 4-point or 5-point harness seat-belt? They are very comfortable and are more secure than conventional seatbelts. Plus, they make you feel like you're about to fly a jet!!!

1Fast99Si: Yes, I'm pretty shocked but I'm also shocked on the amount of people that have unprotected sex: same deal. I guess you make your choices and you deal with the consequences. You can walk the horse to the river but you can't make him drink.
