I never said I would. I said I'd either get the EMS, or get some bolt ons and the VAFC. Read a little more into it

I put 20,000 miles on my car per year. As a daily driver, the best mods by far for my car:
1) 4.57 gears
2) ECU
3) hardtop (OEM, Mugen, Amuse, Dome)

These mods alone will make the car more driveable in the low and mid-range, perfect for stop-n-go traffic. Hardtop might be good depending on the climate you drive in (ie. extreme temps).

If you go Nitrous, you won't be driving 16,000 miles/year for long.

Another vote for the gears. I recently had the 4.44s installed and have no regrets.

Yes the gears were my original plan and I think I just might stick with that. I'm still playing with the idea of ordering some ROTA wheels but only if I can find them in an acceptable offset and like the look. I like the idea of having some lightweight wheels because I LOVED my TE37s on my Si. They made a HUGE difference over stock.

I'm also going to do some research on these new 70mm single exhausts that are out that people are claiming to get 10+ HP on, but we'll see if that's true or not.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

If you have $2k to spend, get the gears and use the remaining $400 or so on a comptech, or other, intake.

Also, if you do the work yourself, a lightened flywheel.

Where the hell are you getting gears and diff. installed for $1600? I've been quoted at Hardtopguy for $2100.

Also for #3. if you spend under $2000 on suspension, your handling is going to be worse. KW Variant 3's are the way to go for a c/o kit around $2000.

I say get gears at your great price.

I would maximize what is there to begin with. Add a shift beeper so you are always in the powerband without ever looking. A voodoo shiftknob because you always are shifting. A good CAI so you don't get heat soak. Premium fluids because what other car does 9K.

Max out your tire width to 225F 265R to get the most rubber on the ground
