It was probably because it was a cold start. I got a question. Everytime I shift into second, it makes a sound. It coming from the gear, but it doesn't sound like it was grinding. It's pretty hard to describe. Maybe it was the syncro. I'll record it the next time I take it out for a spin.

Does it, perhaps... sound like a "crunch?"

Some people have found relief with changing the transmission fluid. Some use GM synchromesh, but supposedly the new Honda MTF is very good as well.

Anyone want to comment whether 05s have the new tranny fluid?
