Technically, it is older, but I got it from the dealer on August 12, 2002, one year ago today. What a year it has been.

Because of the S I have rediscovered the thrill of owning a sportscar. I sold my last one twenty years ago and had almost forgotten how much fun it is. I have rediscovered the pleasures of maintaining the car and tinkering with it. There is something special about getting out on a Sunday morning with my son Adam to wash and wax the car we both love owning.

It has brought me even closer to my kids. Adam, my 9 year old, and I have done a few projects and love going for drives. Andrew, my 15 year old who couldn't care less about cars, has taken to it and now even helps maintain it.

It makes me feel young and it is truly all of the great things that we always discuss. It led me to this web site and to all the friends that I have made. I never imagined that a car could do that.

What a car, what a year.

I know that it is a car, but as I came in through my garage this evening I patted it on the door sill and said, "Happy birthday S".

So did you get it a present?

On Saturday Adam and I changed the oil and filter and on Sunday we washed it. I think the best present of all would be for us to take it for a ride if the weather clears up.

Ralper,

Your post is coincidental for me. I looked at my paperwork just the other day to make sure I knew my MY02's "birthday" (at least the day it came home with me), and am waiting to celebrate September 9th. I also have two sons, ages 15 (Ben) and 9 (Taylor). I let the 15 year old drive it some...mostly in a church parking lot.

Happy "birthday" to yours.

I still love this one, it was posted by kamehamaha on another thread (I hope he doesn't mind):

"my friend once on one of the "birthdays" of his car, he made a large cupcake and put a candle on it and lit it and I held it in front of the exhaust pipe and he reved it and the car blew the candle out. he is hard core."

ROFL.

I had the s2000 at 15. If he is responsible, I would not worry about it too much.

Happy birthday to your car! I wouldn't have had the balls to drive this car at 15. This coming from a 19 year old
