Default My S2000

Hey Guys,

I have a 2008 S2000 which I don't drive it often, maybe drive it once a week or sometime once every two weeks.

My questions are:

1) How come I cannot start the car after two weeks of sitting in my garage? (I have to jump start the battery in order for it to run)

2) Is it bad for the car sitting there for too long? and should I disconnect the battery if I don't drive it often?

3) I have an alarm system on the car and by disconnect battery would that messed up the alarm?

What's bothering me is that everytime the car sit there too long in the garage I have to jumb start the battery for it to work. Thank you for your input on this.

i had this same issue when i first got my car.. turned out my battery was dead. after replacing the battery, i've been able to go a week or two without driving it and have it start up with no problems.

well what i'd do is remove the battery and take it to your local autozone or kragen and have them check the battery.

1. Have your local autostore run tests on the battery. Replace if needed.
2. Run a trickle-charger on your battery when you are not driving the car.

An alarm will definitely drain the battery in two weeks. Think about it, the blinking LED, all the sensors armed and waiting. Id just disconnect the battery. Theres no reason a battery should be gone in 2 years..if i rememeber correctly its part of the 3 year warranty.

Whats the point of having an alarm if your just going to disconnect its power source? I would have the battery checked and if its still decent then use a trickle charge.
