My S2000 over a Viper
Every year in August I borrow my fathers 00' Viper for a week or so to drive in the Woodward Dream Cruise. After driving it in this crazy heat we are having in Michigan this year, I really started to appreciate how fun and easy my S is to drive. Man! Driving that thing this year in solid grid lock down Woodward in 90 degree heat was not as fun as I had remembered it to be. I could not wait to return the car to my father and get back my S. Now not to take anything away from the Viper, that thing is wicked fast, but the S2000 is so much more fun, nimble, and way more forgiving. Plus you don't get a sore leg from pushing in the clutch. Needless to say my father was shocked when I told him I liked my $33,000. S2000 over his $75,000. Viper.
No flame intended, but I would like to post my opinion on the yellow S2000 that passed me near Prescott, Arizona on Sunday. In order to pass me in my red 2003 SRT Viper on a winding road, the driver passed on a double yellow line and into oncoming traffic and endangered the lives of individuals in four different cars. Obviously, I was not impressed and such lack of driving common sense will kill someone.
I hope you're not stereotyping that as everyone here, because I doubt many (if any) people here would do that.
But hey, I can't speak for us all, as I'm sure there is always someone who wants to show off the size of their ego.

Hoonda, as mentioned, no flame intended and I am not sterotyping. I am just pointing out that I think that the driver of that particular car will have a short life expectancy and do harm to others in the process.
How much money do you think it would take to beat the old viper with an s2k? It depends on the track of course.
I'd guess with the 50k left over you could do it. 50k is a ton of money to do mods, esp if you don't waste any on fancy seats, rims, and a body kit.
I'd bet with 50k and the right mods, you could make a geo metro faster (it would still suck but could be faster!)
