Default My S2000 story comes to an end.

Hello!

Well, where to being. I started out as a new S2000 owner in November as well as first time Honda owner. My first cars were Audi A6, BMW 740iL, and at that time a 540i. It can not be denied the fun of the German cars. It felt weird not working on a car for a year, because I was hood up all the time in my 540i, which turns out to be THE worst car I've owned. Sure it was fast but ehh, when your busting your fingers all the time fixing it, it turns into a hate relationship. So I found my S2K in my auction, decided to take a chance. Bought the car with 96K miles for 5,000 and shortly after I sold the 540i. A year later of such an amazing car, I just sold it recently, for a profit at that, almost double .. I sold it cause I've been going through lots, from back pains from an accident, to remorse for one specific car. And that was my 740iL I used to own. Like my S2000, I didn't do anything to that car for a year, only at the start when I got it.. I just replaced the engine gaskets and seals. The 7er is my weak spot and I knew eventually I would own another one. I had flashbacks when I rode in my buddies 740, and it struck me. I missed my 740 so bad. So with the exceptional knowledge of the 740i and my excuses (back pain, want a smooth car, ect) I pulled the trigger recently and bought another one. Now, hear me out because this 740i is very rare. It's a 2001 740i Sport in Imola Red, which tends to be a rare color on BMWs, but extremely rare on 7-Series. I knew I would end up in another one, there was no way I could stay away. Both the S2000 and 740i have souls, but different obviously. And I know I will own another S2000 eventually as well. I know I made someone very happy with the S2000. People thought it was a brand new car when they saw it. After owning a bimmer, I really learned maintenance lol so the S2K was taken car of. I'm very glad to be back into a 740i, it's been too long. And I depart S2K for now, because the 2nd car will be another 2K. Here are reference pictures of my S2K and now 740i. Although these are somewhat different, the 740i and what I used to have 740iL, which was a lot bigger, they feel exactly the same. The Sport Package on a 740i offers sport struts, high stall torque converter, better differential, interior (seats), and others.

Eventually the car will look like this:

No, I didn't paint the corners, wheels, and whatever else black. Previous owner did, which will be put back to original look. Anyhow, I still show up here time-to-time in my state forum. I do not see it as a down-grade as some might but a trade-off. I like both equally. Farewell but not goodbye!

I love E38s. They look GREAT in Imola.

There was an Imola widescreen '01 with a ton of Dinan upgrades and less than 25K miles for 22-23K IIRC, back a few years I passed on. I still think about that car.

Make sure the cooling sys is in top shape. Other then that I've had plenty of beamers and as long as you stay on top of the maintenance, you will be fine. Enjoy the car, they dont make a 7 series like the used to. This is a fine german automobile.

I was the buyer.

F'in fantastic looking car, he really took care of it. I'm afraid to park it outside and now I'm the guy that parks in the rear corner of the lot at work. Never thought I would be that guy.

My second s2k. When I got my first I told myself I would NEVER sell that car. But when I saw this pop up while casually cruising craigslist it was too good to pass up. Sold the first one, also at a profit and snagged this one.

Great car.

Good luck with the bmw, the car looks hot.
